Main Projects

Below you will find the projects which I believe are my most notable works.

My Work: Text

4th of July Dad

The first game I created within the minor for Game Development was "4th of July Dad": a cooking simulator where a caring father is trying his best to feed the members of his family at a barbecue. In this game, players would use drag and drop mechanics to cook meat and assemble food as they were ordered throughout the day. My contributions to this game were much more substantial than for my previous games. They include but are not limited to: creating systems for the game manager, orders, and item replacement; setting up functionality for the in-game UI, menu, lose screen, and victory screen; and implementing/creating all of the audio. Creating this game gave me more practice within the game development field while also teaching me some of the core principles of teamwork and collaboration.

Norseman's Vessel

Norseman's Vessel was a Real-Time-Strategy game wherein the player assumes the role of a Viking kingdom that seeks to conquer the world. Player's would need to take over each opposing city on the map using their boat, and the small amount of resources available to them. Over the course of this game's development, I assumed more of a leadership role than I had for previous projects. In addition to managing my team, I also created all of the game's audio, set up most of its UI, and implemented the boat movement. Though this game suffered from a number of organizational flaws, I was able to learn many important lessons from it. I learned to better communicate with my colleagues and manage my time properly. And of course, I gained more experience in the field of game development.
